Our age talks a lot about “instability”. But the real drama is more radical:
What if solidity itself was always an effect of fields – in physics and in civilization?
In my new essay, “The Epistemic Logic of Solidity”, I connect quantum decoherence with our current civilizational state:
quantum states lose coherence when their field no longer sustains them,
societies lose coherence when their epistemic fields – orientation, expectation, potentiality – fracture.
From there I unfold why AI, media and metrics are not just “tools”, but field technologies – and why Sapiognosis and Sapiopoiesis treat epistemic integrity as the real scarce resource of this century.
If you sense that our problem is not a lack of information, but a loss of intelligibility, this text is the long-form answer.
I'll be brutally honest Leon, and with all the kindness and grace I can muster.I consider myself an intellectual and I am already at loss in your comment. You may right and yet I wont be able to access your viewpoint because it is beyond my reach and I suspect it will be beyond reach of most readers.
This last year on Substack has been a steep learning curve. My earlier post were to intellectual fro most people and I started learning a new language. The language of my readers.
For me stability is a feeling, not an intellectual endeavor, and it comes form the body, not the mind and certainly not from a concept. I may know that I am stable (or not) but do I feel it in my bones. I love quantum physics (I studied physics and math at university), but it does not reach into my bones.
So thank you for your contribution. It will fins its way through the mysterious energetic lines of the cyber world
