A substack friend of mine noticed something that is worth including here.
When I wrote” I do not know the timeline but I know the direction and the window is closing" it is still a prediction. I am still making the same mistake of pretending to know.
That was sloppy writing. It needed to be edited out.
The truth is that I have an intuition, yet no knowing. That is the truth.
I’m the person you sent that article to. And I think my response was something like yeah I read it whatever not spiraling down that rabbit hole or something like that lol As someone who lived inside of a prepper cult, accidentally mind you, fear bating is where the money lies. I watched people literally live in tents in the Washington state winter, , using the food bank, and begging for secondhand shoes for their children, while they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on underground and food storage. It was horrifying to say the least to watch these people spiral into fear and to be utterly shaken up by whatever conspiracy and fear based message was currently being perpetuated. I don’t see anything wrong with being prepared. I’ve lived in California long enough and lived through one pretty big earthquake to know that having water and food and a little teeny tiny backup battery that I keep plugged in my house all the time is a handy thing. But that doesn’t mean I’m running around every day freaking out about whatever fear cycle is being pumped through the algorithm.
From that text you and I got into a long conversation about Hope. At the beginning of your essay, you said something about how we don’t shape reality or something like that I went to go back and reference it, not letting me at the moment so anyway, when I immediately thought was the problem is… Too many humans do shape their reality based on their perceptions and they aren’t actually very clear about what’s real
Thank you, Gabriel. I saw that other article too, and was temporarily crushed by the writer's conviction that total collapse was inevitable and that it was, essentially, too late to do anything meaningful to counteract the momentum. Your response is so necessary -- yes, we may recognize patterns, and yes, they may portend some frightening possibilities, but we cannot pretend to be all-knowing. We do not know how things will play out. In fact, the hubris of believing we know what's coming is, in part, responsible for where we are at the present moment. Blessings.
Your article drew me in this morning and is refreshing to me. The comments are also refreshing. This makes me think, and I am very aware of how much I need to be stimulated into creative thought and experience at this time. Asking questions, being open to where my own thinking or maps box me in is crucial to continuing to grow and thrive in this ever evolving planet. Thank you, as always, for your continued writing and presence here ❤️
It is nice to have you here dear one. You are one of those who have read and consistently been present to my writing. It is because of people like you that I still write!
The problem with you, my friend, is that you are an intelligent man, and this is an intelligent article. Even though it is not that long, I had to read it a few times to fully understand your point.
You are not making just one point. You are opening up a cluster of different truths, all of which relate to each other. As much as the world needs you, your voice, and your truths in plural, not many people are listening. Not many people are reading.
And Substack is free, rather than paid, for a very good reason. They are probably using writers as guinea pigs to collect data.
So, I do not know where you are going from here. I was thinking of Michel Houellebecq, who somehow feels like a soul brother of yours. I just hope you will write a book that rocks the planet, a book that rocks the world, like Osho’s first book on sexuality did when it was published in India and later worldwide. It shocked the entire world.
But today, it is hard to shock anyone because nobody is reading, and nobody is trying to go deeper into things anymore. Our society has used social media not to expand the brain, but to shut it down.
I truly hope that all your thoughts will be published in a book that rocks the boat.
In the movie “ Cloud Atlas” at the end, Somni 451, the gentle rebellious Korean clone is told “no one will ever hear your message” and she responds “someone already has”.
I will publish another book. In the last 18 months I have written and published 100.000 words, when I look back they form a body of knowledge.
Now I doubt it will rock the world at all. People probably won’t read it. Too deep, too complex people will say.
Too numb I believe already. Most human nervous system has never experienced level 0 of activation.
They took yoga from India, one of the tool that could help them experience a truly profound state of parasympathetic nervous system and turned into performance, into sport, into image… they made it a sympathetic activation machine.
Fear has driven humanity in a profound distrust of life. We will carry the karmic weight of our choices, of our responses, even if we are not conscious of it.

Indeed...
I think our conversation about trust and hope is coming soon too.

I am writing a post right now about Fears, hopes and trust in the time of collapse... I think you will find it relevant too

Here is a cleaner grammar edit:
