We are living in a predicament. There are no “solutions” to predicaments. Every so-called solution affects something else. But that doesn’t mean we cannot take meaningful action. It does not mean we cannot act in ways that plant the seeds for a new story, even if humanity does not come out the other side.
Exactly. The predicament is the momentum result of our pst actions, we could call it karma. It won’t stop just because we change behavior, and anyway, we are not been changing behavior (I mean collectively at scale).
And I believe , like you, that our actions are not in vain either. In fact I believe that if we’d just take responsibility for what we have done rather than sweep it under the carpet (today the carpet is war that we sue to distract ourselves rather than looking at a bleak truth), we would already see some change happening. Because it always starts with taking responsibility, pointing the finger back to myself rather than blaming.
Whether we come out on the other side becomes irrelevant very quickly when we move to that way of looking at the situation.
